Kate and Sam Mendes Not Getting Back Together
Youthful-looking Kate at the Swiss watch advert
Winslet & Mendes to 'salvage marriage'
The stars made headlines when they announced in March that their seven-year marriage had come to an end earlier this year.
The split seemed to be amicable - both of them stepped out together for a family day with their six-year-old son Joe and Mia Honey, Winslet's nine-year-old daughter from her first marriage to Jim Threapleton, just weeks after the news was announced.
And the former couple is reportedly planning to take time out of the spotlight to head to their Gloucestershire, England manor house to work on their relationship in the hope they can find "the spark" in their romance again.
A source tells Britain's Sunday Express, "Sam hasn't any film commitments at the moment so they are going to stay at the house with the children this summer and see if they can reignite their spark.
"Sam has always been able to walk away from girlfriends before but now there are children involved, he wants to see if he can work it out with Kate."

Mumbai: Aishwarya Rai Bachchan seems to be reaching new heights with each passing day. The scintillating beauty, who has been gathering accolades for her mesmerising act in ‘Raavan’, will now be seen rubbing shoulders with Hollywood stunner Kate Winslet.
Believe it or not, but the two divas will be seen in a commercial for a brand that they both endorse.
Confirming the news, a source said, “Aishwarya will be working with British actress Kate Winslet in a commercial, to be shot in Italy. This is for a brand Ash endorses.”
However, this isn’t the first time Ash will be seen opposite a Hollywood biggie. The actress has been seen with actors like Jean Reno, Steve Martin and Emily Mortimer in the past.
Talking about Ash’s excitement over the ad, a source close to the actress said, “Aishwarya is very excited to meet Kate and moreover shoot with her for the ad. Ash is headed to Italy sometime next week. The ad will be shot over two days.”
As for Aishwarya, the actress has met Kate in the past and was reported to have said that she finds her “very pretty”. Shooting with Kate is something Ash is eagerly waiting for, says a source close to the latter.

Titanic 3D in April 2012
Cameron has previously stated that Fox is targeting Spring 2012 release for the 3D version, to coincide with the “100 year anniversary of the sailing of the ship.” The Los Angeles Times confirms this, stating that the director is currently “converting the blockbuster into 3-D for re-release in April 2012, the 100th anniversary of the ship’s sinking. ”
The RMS Titanic she set off on her maiden voyage from Southampton, England, on April 10th 1912, and struck an iceberg and sank four days into the trip, on April 14th 1912. Judging from those historical dates, the movie will be released in the second week of April 2012, likely on Friday April 13th. It’s also possible that Fox will open the film on Tuesday, April 10th to mark the historical date, although a Friday release seems more likely.

Saved From Bank Change Shame
KATE WINSLET was saved from an embarrassing banking experience on Thursday morning (17Jun10), when a kindly customer stepped in to help the star cash her change after the teller refused to serve her.
The Titanic star visited a New York branch of Chase bank with her two children to hand in their loose coins in exchange for dollar bills.
But after realising the Oscar-winner did not hold an account at the branch, the bank clerk refused to process the transaction.
However, Winslet was saved from dragging the bucket of change home when a Chase customer offered to swap the coins for notes.
According to the New York Daily News, the generous patron was stunned when Winslet removed her sunglasses to thank him.
A bank source tells the publication, "(He asked) 'Are You Kate Winslet?' Winslet smiled and nodded."

Winslet in basketball mishap
Filming on Kate Winslet's new TV mini-series has been suspended after the actress fell over and hit her head during a game of basketball with her kids.
The Titanic star has been shooting new HBO show Mildred Pierce in New York City, but production was halted on Monday after she suffered a mishap while playing with Mia, nine, and Joe, six - her two children with estranged husband Sam Mendes.
Winslet reportedly bumped her head when she fell over and was left badly bruised, forcing TV bosses to shut down production on the series.
A source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, "She fell after being hit by a basketball and suffered bruising that couldn't be covered with make-up, so the entire production was halted (on) Monday."
A representative for Winslet confirmed the incident, and insisted the star "is fine".
Films join work of three great Kates
The series is being presented by the newly-formed Ohio State University Theatre and Friends Film Discussion Group. The group was founded by Kelly Gingery and Clay Lowe, an associate professor emeritus in OSU’s Department of Theatre.
The “Kiss Me Kate” series is designed “to talk about great women, great female actresses, in movies that kind of could appeal to anyone,” said Gingery, the series programmer.
“Kiss Me Kate” kicks off Sunday at Gateway Film Center with its first film, “The Philadelphia Story,” starring Katharine Hepburn and Cary Grant. Melissa Starker, sales and marketing manager for Gateway Film Center, and Carolyna Bradford, an actress and producer, will be guest speakers for the screening of “The Philadelphia Story.”
Hepburn, winner of a record four Academy Awards for Best Actress, was chosen because of her iconic status as one of cinema’s great actresses, Gingery said.
“We chose (Hepburn) because she was greatly popular,” she said. “She made comedies, drama. She’s kind of an icon obviously that everyone knows.”
The other two featured actresses – Winslet and Blanchett – were chosen because of their award-winning versatility.
“Kate Winslet and Cate Blanchett are two current day women that are very well-regarded Oscar nominees who make comedies, drama, biopics, whatever,” Gingery said. “They can do it all so nobody has really pigeonholed them.”

Kate Winslet- The curvy, voluptuous woman keeps us glued when she sheds her clothes and also when she puts on her acting shoes. From Titanic’s Rose to The Readers’ Hanna, she can unearth sense & sensibility from the depths of her unfathomable talent.
Soderbergh's Contagion Contaminates 2011 in 3D!
The biggest announcement among them is that Steven Soderbergh will be releasing his virus thriller Contagion, starring Matt Damon, Kate Winslet, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow and Marion Cotillard in 3D on October 21, 2011. Having spoken with Soderbergh about 3D this time last year, he told ComingSoon.net how he had been suitably impressed when he was given an early sneak peek at James Cameron's Avatar, so it isn't too big a surprise that he has decided to give it a go with his next big movie.

Penelope Cruz to replace Kate Winslet in beauty ads
Star of the upcoming Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides sequel, Penelope Cruz is the new face of Lancôme's Trésor campaign.
The ads, which in the past starred Isabella Rossellini and Kate Winslet, were this time shot by Mario Testino at the Hotel Crillon in Paris and will start appearing later this year.
Winslet will still feature in the L'Absolu lipstick campaign, while the brand's latest blockbuster addition, Julia Roberts, has started modeling other Lancôme cosmetics including mascara in what is the first beauty campaign of her career.
In related news, German actress Diane Kruger - who was signed by L'Oréal last year - has just been named the face of Calvin Klein's new fragrance, which will be distributed by Coty. Implications of this rivaling set-up remain to be seen.

Art imitates life for Kate

It looks like Kate Winslet's split from Sam Mendes is taking its toll on her looks.
Her radiant complexion and glowing smile have been replaced with a worried frown and a dowdy wardrobe.
But rest assured, the Titanic actress is just in costume for her latest role in Mildred Pierce.
The Oscar-winner takes centre stage as a divorced single mother who decides to open a restaurant.
But the new business causes conflict in the already-strained relationship with her daughter Veda.
While there are no plans to launch an eaterie in real life, Kate really will be a divorcée soon.
The Brit star announced her split from director Sam in March, putting an end to their seven-year marriage.

Kate Exposes Foie Gras Cruelty
Oscar-winner Kate Winslet is following in the footsteps of other great actors, including Sir Roger Moore, in urging consumers and retailers to drop foie gras. She narrates this PETA exclusive video revealing undercover investigation footage of the cruelty that is endured by ducks and geese who are abused for this delicacy of despair.
Foie gras, which literally translates to "fatty liver," is made from the engorged livers of ducks and geese. Kate describes, "To produce foie gras, ducks and geese are force-fed enormous amounts of grain and fat, which causes their livers to swell to many times the normal size."
When these feeding pipes are jammed into the birds, their throats are often punctured and the birds can suffer from severe tissue damage and internal bleeding.
Help Kate spread the word that foie gras is a recipe for torture and share her video with everyone you know! Share this video on your favorite sites or use the form below to e-mail it to your friends now!

Winslet voices anti-foie gras campaign
The Titanic actress provides the commentary for a new promo by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA), which documents the terrible conditions put in place to make the dish - which is made from the livers of fattened ducks.
PETA operatives went undercover at a foie gras farm to film the lives of ducks and geese as they are force-fed so their livers can be used as a restaurant delicacy.
And Winslet insists it's time diners realised the "terrifying and painful" ordeal the birds endure to cater for their expensive tastes.
She says, "Foie gras is sold as an expensive 'delicacy' in some restaurants and shops, but no one pays a higher price for foie gras than the ducks and geese who are abused and killed to make it.
"This is a terrifying and painful process for the birds, who have no semblance of a normal life and know that several times a day a tube will be rammed down their throats. Please join us in helping ducks and geese by pledging never to eat foie gras."
The actress isn't the first star to throw their weight behind an anti-foie gras campaign - in February (10) vegetarian singer Leona Lewis threatened to snub the the BRIT Awards in London if organisers didn't remove the dish from the event's menu

Kate: "Plastic surgery is terrifying"
Kate Winslet has said that it is "really sad" to see young women agreeing to plastic surgery.
The actress - who recently separated from husband Sam Mendes - told The Times that she cannot understand why people are so eager to change their looks.
"I think plastic surgery is terrifying," said Winslet, mother to daughter Mia, 9, and son Joe, 6. "[It's] out of control. It makes me really sad, especially when you see younger women altering their faces."
She went on to suggest that beauty magazines are responsible for foisting an unrealistic image of women onto young girls, and so limits the media that her children are exposed to.
"I don't bring glossy magazines into the home," she added. "In our house, it's Nat Geo, Nat Geo Kids and Sainsbury's Magazine."

Winslet Refuses To Feel Guilty Over Career
The Titanic star - who recently split from husband Sam Mendes - has a daughter Mia, nine, and a six-year-old son Joe.
But the actress insists she came under scrutiny from the press when she left her kids at home to continue working in the film industry - and the negative portrayal of her parenting left her in despair.
She tells Britain's The Times, "I don't feel guilty about working now. When Mia was younger I did, but that was largely to do with the press. You know, 'She's off and the child gets left behind.' You just want to kill yourself when you read those things.
"Mia and Joe are not onset movie kids. I don't ever have them hang out in the trailer, because I don't like the notion that they are sort of beholden to my schedule, not knowing when they're going to see me. I'd rather, you know, give them a big kiss in the morning before I go off to work."
